Renewi is a waste management and recycling company. The company has been going for a long time but previously went through life as 2 separate companies, namely; Shanksgroup and Van Gansenwinkel.
Renewi collects waste and recycles it back into useful materials, such as recycled paper, metal, plastic, glass, wood, building materials, compost and energy, thus making a concrete contribution to a circular economy. Renewi has more than 8,000 employees operating from 198 sites spread across nine countries in Europe and North America.
As you might guess, they are the preferred partner in the field of recycling. Their goal is also: strive to be the leading waste-to-product company by contributing to a sustainable society.
As STERK, we are looking for how to make our operations more sustainable. We are therefore pleased to have found a partner we can work with for the longer term.
Next year, we will be looking for a way that suits our operations and those of Renewi to make sorting more efficient and also ensure that more stuff can be processed sustainably. That is, we want to simply throw less stuff away and start sorting more stuff before it ends up in the landfill.
